BEI offers a variety of specialized environmental services relating to regulations or critical aspects of compliance programs. Litigation Support Principal personnel at BEI routinely provide litigation support and expert testimony in cases related to environmental damages or potential environmental concerns. Using strong experience, BEI will assist in gathering and presenting data to support and enhance our client's position or defense. BEI has the technical expertise to lend sound expert testimony in matters of groundwater and soil contamination, remediation, and civil engineering. We also have state-of-the-art computer equipment for preparing trial exhibits. Lead Contamination Analysis Recent findings by the EPA have resulted in lowering the allowable "safe" lead concentrations in the bloodstream and have caused a re-evaluation of lead contamination in various media. BEI staff technicians will collect samples to determine levels of lead present in paints, soils or other media. Following reporting and submittals, our environmental engineers and scientists will design remediation processes geared towards regulatory compliance. Air Dispersion Modeling EPA air quality concerns (NESHAP) have created the need for determining concentrations of various pollutants as dispersed by wind currents around originating sources in populated areas. BEI can evaluate dispersion of air pollutants using the Bowman version of the Industrial Source Complex computer model. This computer model was developed to simulate particle dispersion considering aerodynamic wake effects, gravitational settling, and dry deposition. This analytical tool provides BEI with the insight necessary to deal with site specific air quality issues. |
