BEI’s capabilities include performing engineering services for various project needs. The capability to support projects with in-house engineering enhances our response to specific scheduling and cost requirements for projects. Engineering tasks outside the expertise of BEI personnel are completed using our network of engineers working under our schedule and budget needs. General Engineering Support BEI’s engineering staff provides comprehensive services over the full spectrum of engineering’s diverse disciplines. Our main expertise is in civil, environmental, and limited mechanical engineering disciplines. When additional support is needed, we team with client personnel or with our network of other engineers and scientists to complete project work. A wide in-house experience base, state-of-the-art hardware and software, along with dedication to project needs by BEI principal and/or senior engineers and scientists, ensure high quality, timely, and cost effective project support. Civil Design Site development support is provided by BEI staff with their experience in subdivision design, storm water management, and permitting. Engineers provide support with drainage evaluation, road layout and design, construction survey support, terrain management planning, wetland layout & design, and soils evaluation. System Design Our engineers perform design and specification tasks to support our projects. Quick response and attention to detail prove vital in keeping project budgets and schedule on target. System design, completed with input from client representatives and manufacturer equipment specifications, is assembled and distributed for review, comment, and issue using a time scale appropriate for the project needs. The BEI system support includes operation and maintenance review of various systems, production of O&M manuals, and assistance with training of client personnel in system operation. Field Support BEI Engineers and field technicians provide required support for field activity when necessary for expediting timely, correct completion of system installation. The field services include engineering liaison, construction support, and project chronology recording to provide information for reporting purposes. Years of experience in field operations allow accurate support of field activity, responsive interpretation of changing conditions, and necessary implementation of revisions on a "fast track" basis during construction activity. BEI utilizes in-house support for site layout surveys. Our equipment includes a semi-total station with electronic distance measurements, along with transfer of field data to site coordinates using AutoCAD software to assure accurate location for existing and installed facilities. This special engineering tool allows enhanced flexibility for our engineers in working with engineering and environmental designs and layouts. |
