Independent Petroleum Distribution and Marketing Client, Metropolitan Chicago Area

BEI staff teamed with this Independent Petroleum Distribution and Marketing client serving the Metropolitan Chicago area to assist in evaluating potential new opportunities and to minimize business environmental risk. A wide range of assignments have resulted from this growing relationship including involvement with high profile incidents resulting from UST system releases, UST system compliance evaluations, due diligence for real estate investments and sales, and property re-development evaluations.

Site assessment using direct-push drilling rig to collect soil and groundwater samples

Naturally many of the clients needs are related to corrective action associated with UST systems and consequently BEI personnel have used their extensive experience with UST Program regulations and petroleum hydrocarbons contaminants to exceed client expectations. Acting on behalf of the client, BEI has received favorable eligibility determinations relative to reimbursement from the UST Fund, and maximized reimbursement. Going forward, BEI designs release assessments and evaluates remedial alternatives to optimize the benefits of risk-based corrective action. When active remediation is needed, BEI provides a full range of services from pilot testing to full-scale system design, construction management, and operation and maintenance.

BEI staff has performed refinery field services since 1991 with no OSHA recordable of lost time accidents, and were awarded safety commendations for 10 years in a row.
